XL Bronze Art Deco Statue by Chiparus Egyptian Dancer Figurine Sale

  

This is a fantastic quality bronze sculpture of an Art Deco dancer. This large, heavy bronze is titled "Phoenician Dancer" and was sculpted by Demetre Chiparus. Chiparus' work was heavily influenced in the 1920s by the art of ancient Egypt and the unveiling of King Tutankhamun's tomb.

You can see the creativity and inspiration of Egyptian art in this piece. She extends her arms and strikes a theatrical pose. She stands on tiptoe and dances with her legs close together and bent. It is an extremely detailed piece down to the tone of her abdominal muscles.

This sculpture is hand-crafted and has a brown patina. It is signed by Chiparus and is mounted on a black marble base in Art Deco style.
