Rare Art Deco Rowing Plaquette - Coupe Glandaz 1930 - Robert JACQUET - Bronze by P. Exceptional collector’s bronze plaquette, a historic piece from French rowing between the wars. This art medal, with its strong Art Deco style, was awarded in 1930 to Robert JACQUET, who would later become an Olympic finalist at the Berlin Games (1936).

Type: Bronze plaquette, edition strike. Dimensions: Height 5.0 cm x Width 7.0 cm. Engraver/Artist: Pierre AUBÉ (a renowned sculptor and medalist, famous for his allegorical compositions). Presentation: Sold in its original period case in blue leatherette/leather, with a velvet interior and green silk lining.

Obverse: Allegorical scene of a rower saluting Victory. Inscription: "La force et l'endurance donnent la victoire" ("Strength and endurance bring victory"). Engraved with the winner’s name: Coupe Glandaz 1930 - R. Reverse: Crew racing at full speed (coxswain with a four-oared crew) under the protection of a winged Victory.

Inscription: "Fédération Française des Sociétés d'Aviron" (French Federation of Rowing Clubs). The Prize: The Coupe Glandaz, created by Albert Glandaz (IOC member), was one of the most prestigious competitions of the time, rewarding the elite of national rowing. Item in very fine condition.
