Rare art deco modernist lamp in nickel-plated bronze, topped by a cut glass cube, which measures 35 cm in height and weighs 2.4 kilos. The predominance of roundness and the curves of the decoration contrasts with the resolutely geometrical structure of this lamp. If we do not formally identify the manufacturer of this exceptional luminaire, we will be content to admire its anonymous talent.
This lamp with perfect proportions, and coordinated decoration, was produced in the 1930s. The nickel-plated bronze foot develops a modern repertoire on a four-sided pyramidal base (photo 2), dug deep furrows patinated in black in the hollows.
The alternation of chiseled and smooth segments adds to the refinement, this decoration is repeated on the lamp stand. The globe rests on a four-arm support whose triangular returns perfectly fit. Nickeling is the original one and it has retained all its radiance. Note the presence of the original bakelite wire pass (photo 10).
The frosted white glass globe is a cube with a slightly convex surface. Its four-sided decoration is a stylized representation of a star radiating in a cloudy sky, the top is adorned in spiral. It measures 13.5 cm side and is in perfect condition.
This lamp has been rewired with a new twisted wire sheathed with black fabric, the socket is made of silver brass screw e14, socket and switch are new.
