Adorable 'ATHLETA' Lamp by Lucien ALLIOT circa 1920. Gilt bronze lamp on a marble base. The brass lampshade is encircled with multicolored glass cabochons. Beautiful nymph standing on lotus leaves wearing a floral capeline, very fine details of the face, dress, and hands. A lot of softness for this lamp from the beautiful Art Nouveau period. A magnificent lamp not to be missed. Lucien Charles Edouard Alliot was a student of Louis Bariab and Jules Coutan. Alliot was well known for his figurative sculptures that were exhibited for many years at the Paris Salon.

He received awards, then declared himself out of competition and became a member of the jury at the Salon evaluating sculptural works in the 1930s.
