G&l And Muller Brothers Lustre Art Deco Bronze Nickelé And Glassware Pressed 1930

  

Model listed in the manufacturer's period catalog, it is not a winding. Rare nickel-plated bronze art deco chandelier, equipped with a shell and four coordinated tulips in moulded-pressed glass signed muller brothers lunéville, as it was marketed by the first establishments & lambole in nancy in the 1930s. This model is presented in the catalogue of the company dart déclairage nancéienne dated 1930 with reference 160 (photo 6).

During 1930, nearly three-quarters of the lighting devices produced by G&L were equipped with glass mill siblings. The geographical proximity of these two companies probably explains the importance of their commercial ties.

These four-lobe models used on this chandelier are referenced in the catalogue of lunevillo glassmakers with n° 5901(1) for tulips and 5986 for lobuses (photo 11). Made of frosted white glass, these five glasswares develop a geometric and floral decor stylized on four sides.

The re-polishing of very high precision on tiny details of this decor was the trademark of the muller brothers. The very fine and elegant frame includes all its original elements, one will notice the presence of a shroud in the shape of a clipboard that will be used on many other hanging devices. This chandelier is 80 cm high, 54 cm wide for a total weight of 5.3 kg.

Original nickeling is still in very good condition. Lobus is in perfect condition and has no lack or cracking. It is 18 cm high and 23 cm in diameter. The tulips are also in very good condition with some ginnings at the collars. All these glasswares are signed muller brothers lunéville (photo 12).

The chandelier has been completely rewired with a new wire, the bushings are made of nickel-plated brass with bayonet b22.
