Gracious art deco suspension with three nickel-plated bronze lights and glass pressed by francis hubens, one of the most important Parisian manufacturer of lighting bronzes of lentre-deux-guerre, in the same way as gills, maynadier, hugue, petitot or hettier & vincent. It was at the dawn of the twentieth century that Hubens sassocia with carteyrade to produce luminaires with gas and electricity, before continuing this adventure alone from 1927.

His foundry workshops were located at 144 Boulevard Diderot but he exhibited his models in four exhibition rooms at 68 Rue des Archives. Presented in the catalogue of hubens in 1931 with pressed glass hoofs signed degued (photo 6), this suspension is proposed here in an alternative version, but totally original, with three pressed glass hoofs signed francis hubens (photo 12). This exclusive model, also made by degué, attests to a close and prosperous collaboration between the Parisian bronzer and the compiègne crystals which were his main supplier of lighting glassware. This "modern" suspension is 70 cm high, 43.5 cm wide and weighs 4.7 kg. The frame is made of nickel-plated bronze with a very sober shroud and three bars that hold a three-pillared inverted cone to accommodate glassware.

It is struck with fh initials for francis hubens (photo 7). The original nickelage remains in very good condition with slight alteration on the lower areas.

This frame receives three curved hooves in moulded-pressed glass with a very characteristic decoration of degée productions, with depolished areas with fine sand, and parts in relief. Two of the glasswares are in very good condition with ginnings used on the insertion fields, the third has a lack on one of the two lower insertion fields, near the tip (photo 10). This defect, which is common on this type of glassware, is not visible when installed in the frame and does not in any way upset the stability and aesthetics of this luminaire. The suspension has been recaptured with new wire, it is equipped with three b22 bayonet sockets made of nickel-plated brass (photo 9). Foreign customers : the old french b22 bayonet sockets can be.

By new e14 screen sockets. Any total or partial reproduction of the text and/or images of this ad is strictly reserved.
