Superb and authentic pair of art deco applied in bronze and moulded glass tulips by Gauthier jeans, one of the most important French glassmakers of the 1930s. It is not yet known why the name of gauthier has not passed to posterity as his contribution to the art deco lighting was important. Sometimes signed ejg (for establishments jeans gauthier) or j.

Robert named after the street where his head office was located in Paris, often unsigned, the glassware produced by Gauthier jeans equipped the lighting machines of the biggest tanners and ironsmiths darts of the two-wars. Its factory based in ezanville in the Val doise will also produce in the 1940s many pressed glass models signed ezan. Died during the Second World War, his company survived him until the 1960s and was run by his brother Ernest. This moulded-pressed glass tulip, with a very characteristic design of art deco thethetics, features a chevron-based décor that Gauthier will also use on another square-shaped tulip, on plates and on a square chandelier background. The lacide-ridted glass has been repolised for transparency effects on some salient reliefs.

The frames are made of molten bronze. They offer a fairly complete range of the art deco repertoire: stylized vegetal décor in their upper part and clean geometric lines in the body of the lapplique. These are, of course, 1930s mounts, not copies. The tulips are signed j. Robert in the upper decoration, a signature quite difficult to detect but present (photo 6).

These applicators, totally identical, measure 22 cm in height, 16 cm of protruding and weigh a total of 1.4 kilograms. The glassware has small gins on the bottom edge and collars, moulding marks and fairly discreet cooking lines. They have been re-targeted with new wire, are equipped with leather-shaped leather sleeves b22. They sit on the wall with a fastening bar on the back (photo 10).

They are ready to be asked and to light up. Any full or partial reproduction of the text and/or images of this ad is strictly reserved. The item \"ejg (j.
