C. Ranc & Schneider Art Deco Lamp Bronze And Glass Pte Tulip 1930

  
Charles ranc founded his bronze lighting company in 1909 in Paris and installed it at 64 rue de la rue de la folie-mericourt. His eugenic and august brothers, as well as his sister madeleine, joined him in 1928 and the company's name became "ranc friars". In 1930 the activity was transferred to 97 of the street oberkampf. Ranc productions were particularly famous for the precision of finely chiseled bronzes and the elegance of its lighting appliances. While the bronzes of ranc charles are frequently offered on the antique market, many of them are copies, mainly made by the arta company which was active in roubaix in the 1990s.

This large lamp, which is 43 cm tall, 14 cm wide and weighs 1.5 kilos, was never copied. It is indeed an authentic bronze of the 1930s, signed on its base (photo 6), with its original tulip and period patina, without any lack and in perfect condition. It is undoubtedly one of the rarest and most elegant models of ranc with its decoration of roses with deep reliefs that bloom at the base and at the top, and its large stretchy lyre that welcomes the glass factory in its center. Note the important and meticulous work of chiseling (photo 2).

The glass paste tulip is signed by schneider sandblasting, a signature that is difficult to locate and only the first three letters remain legible (photo 12). It is capped with an openwork claw with four progeny petals with a cover of rose decoration (photos 3 and 8), a recurrent accessory of the luminaires of ranc. This yellow powdered glass tulip degraded parma and speckled with blue is in perfect condition.
