


Very beautiful pair of bronze elephant bookends/sculptures, seated on gray stone bases, France, circa 1930. Period and style: Art Nouveau / Art Deco, transitional period between a naturalistic style and a more streamlined one (notably in the bases). Unsigned quality work, to be identified. “Bronze” marked under each piece. Solid mounting; the natural stone bases are in excellent condition, with no chips or missing parts.
The bronze has a natural golden patina, original patina cleaned? Minor signs of wear from use or original imperfections. Dimensions: (the pieces can be positioned in 2 different ways).
