Art Deco Bronze Inkstand from the Arthur MARTIN Factory in Revin, circa 1920. Arthur Martin is currently a French major home appliance brand, originally a company founded in 1854 by Nestor Martin. The three brothers Alphonse, Hubert-Joseph, and Nestor Martin (Arthur’s grandfather) made silverware and copper items in the 1840s in their three furnaces in Saint-Hubert, Wallonia. Nestor opened other foundries, including the one in Revin, in the French Ardennes, in 1882. Nestor Martin died in 1916, and his children and grandchildren then ensured the continuity of the company.

Very good condition, complete with its two glass ink reservoirs (one chip on one of them); see photos. A rare example of what the Arthur Martin company made before producing major home appliances. Height: 9 cm (3 1/2 in).

Length: 22 cm (8 1/2 in). Width: 13.5 cm (5 1/4 in). Total weight: 1.720 kg. Take a look at my other items like this.

All our items come from France. Expect normal signs of use and wear consistent with age, especially for antiques. All items are shipped by priority mail with insurance.
