Art Deco Bronze Bas-Relief Plaque by R. Buthaud, circa 1940

  
Very rare bronze commemorative plaque made for Fernand Belliard (owner of the Fernand Belliard FBFB Foundry in Bordeaux), after whom a street in Bordeaux is named. One side features the Art Deco motif that René Butaud had produced in a larger size by the F. Belliard foundry for the decoration of the Béarn Guyenne and Gascogne Pavilion in 1937 during the World’s Fair. The other side shows a portrait of Fernand Belliard with his dates of birth and death. Dimensions: 8.8 cm x 6.5 cm.
