Puel-detot - Muller Brothers Lamp Art Deco Bronze Nickeled - Glass Pte Shell
The biographical elements concerning the puel-detot sculptor remain quite small to this day. His participation in a lighting competition in 1923 (photo 5) attests, however, that he was very active at that time. Today, four or five models of bronze lamps have been identified, all very elegant, bearing his signature. Often reassembled appropriately with moulded-pressed glass tulips from the 1930s, however, these marriages are not credible. Indeed, the style of puel-detot is firmly inscribed in a transitional era between new art and deco art that takes place in the 1920s, as evidenced by this superb lamp with a knotted glass shell signed muller brothers lunéville. The nickel bronze foot is made up of three distinct elements that are screwed together. The base, which unfolds a décor on four sides with a deep relief and chiseled hollows (photo 3), was the one that takes up this décor and the three supporting arms. The original nickeling remains intact and vibrant. Puel detot is partially erased but remains legible (photo 6). Lobus in glass paste fits perfectly on all three arms. It measures 14.5 cm in height and 13.5 in diameter. It is signed muller brothers lunéville (photo 9), a brilliant signature in reserve. Fans will have noticed that it is indeed a lamp shell with the signature in the right direction while many lamps are reassemblys with shells of chandeliers whose signature is reversed. Its brown, burgundy and yellow nude develops on a white base. It is very good condition, with just a micro gin around it. The lamp is 34 cm tall and weighs 1.2 kilograms. It was rebabed with a new twisted yarn sheathed with black fabric, socket and switch are new, the silver brass sleeve is screwed e14 with porcelain ring.
