The glassware, produced by Établissements Jean Gauthier at the Cristallerie d’Ézanville, consists at the center of a square chandelier base with geometric floral motifs. Robert, one of the brands used by Jean Gauthier, whose historic Paris headquarters were located at 12–14 rue Jean-Robert.
Établissements Jean Gauthier produced a significant amount of lighting glassware in their Ézanville factories. Jean-Baptiste Gauthier (Toulon-sur-Allier, 1867 – Ézanville, 1932) began at the end of the 19th century as an accountant at Duchange & Meidinger, glass manufacturers and dealers.
This mark was used until the end of the company.
After Jean Gauthier’s death in December 1932, the company continued to be run by his nephew and his stepson, then in the 1950s solely by Fernand Caillot until its early dissolution and liquidation on June 1, 1960.
