Antique bronze brooch, The Faun with the Antelope by François Maurice Thénot

  

Elegant and poetic, this rare patinated bronze brooch depicts a bucolic scene between a faun and an antelope. The work is signed F. Presented at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1936, this medal earned the artist a silver medal. Period: Art Deco, circa 1930. Style: Symbolism, pastoralism, Art Deco.

Dimensions: diameter 5 cm, thickness approx. Mounting: antique brooch, with a pin fastening soldered to the back. Beautiful natural bronze patina, with two small black spots at the bottom and a few more polished areas due to age. Fastening is solid and functional.
